Lawn Seeding
One of the best things you can do for your lawn's health is grow more of it! By adding more grass density through seeding, we naturally work to compete out weeds, and create a more consistent lawn. Chief lawns provides high quality seeding to the Frederick, Walkersville, and Olney, MD areas.
How We Do It
Quality Seeds
The Most important part! Chief Lawns uses Top Professional Grade Turf Varieties Designed specifically for our region and tailored to the conditions in your yard. The seeds we use are thoroughly tested, and are known for having the highest germination percentages in the industry. Oh, and NO fillers or fake coatings! When we drop seed, we want to be dropping SEED.
Application
We utilize the Lesco Pro Aer 30 which aerates the soil while dropping seed, to provide small holes in the soil for seed to germinate. Thanks to its on board power drop seeding, we can dial in the drop rate of seed to ensure proper and consistent coverage, without wasting seed. Our machine also has a drag chain that trails behind the seeder that gently helps rake seed down to the soil to get good seed-to-soil contact.
Protecting Seed
When seeding areas without much existing grass, we will use either straw or burlap covering to help retain moisture and protect the seed from washout and/or wildlife.
